Forums:

Hello. About a two weeks ago I'd created an app. But if I try to get https://cXXXXXXX.web.cddbp.net/webapi/xml/1.0/ with my app's Client ID in my browser - I got xml with such result:

Invalid CLIENT / USER information.

Can you help me?

Hi,
I've looked up your Client ID's and both seem to be working fine for me. Could you post the XML you are sending (with Client ID obscured, thanks!) along with what tool (curl, RESTClient, ?) you are using to make the request?
Thanks!

I am having the same error. I'm using the REST Client extension in Chrome and the following is the code I am sending to it. I am using the GET method.

<QUERIES>
  <QUERY CMD="REGISTER">
    <CLIENT>########-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX</CLIENT>
  </QUERY>
</QUERIES>

Here is the response displayed in the REST Client's data portion.

<RESPONSES>
   <MESSAGE>Invalid CLIENT / USER information.</MESSAGE>
   <RESPONSE STATUS="ERROR" />
</RESPONSES>

Sorry Doug, I've been trying your Client ID too, and it seems to be working for me. I used curl on the command line to test:

1) Save your query to a file, e.g. data.xml, replacing the data with the Client ID for Web API from your My Apps page.

<QUERIES>
<QUERY CMD="REGISTER">
<CLIENT>##########-**********************************</CLIENT>
</QUERY>
</QUERIES>

2) At the command line, type:

curl -X POST -d @data.xml https://c#########.web.cddbp.net/webapi/xml/1.0/

where ####### are the digits before the '-' in your Web API Client ID

When I tried this, I got a success response with a User ID. Can you please try again and let me know if you're still having problems?

You can not obtain a user ID

<RESPONSES>

<MESSAGE>Invalid CLIENT / USER information.</MESSAGE>

<RESPONSE STATUS="ERROR"/>

</RESPONSES>
