Fremantle Media is hosting a hackathon in April 23 - 24, and we are sponsoring our API to help power hackers/developers innovation!

Check out the message below from Fremantle about the event, and we'll see you in Burbank.

FremantleMedia is hosting a Wordpress hackathon to reimagine the TV show website. Open to all Wordpress developers and designers, the goal is to create a site that helps viewers discover Fremantle shows, brings them to life, helps viewers share their excitement with their social channels, and promotes upcoming events around shows.

FremantleMedia shows include America’s Got Talent, American Idol, The Price is Right, Family Feud, Let’s Make a Deal, and a new, scripted show called American Gods. Fremantle also owns the BUZZR network and produces live, travelling versions of their popular game shows.

You’ll have two days to create a working demo of a site, plug-in, or API integration. API partners include Gracenote, Getty Images, Telescope, and MediaHound. Developers can work in teams of up to three people.

Prizes are really good! Winning team gets a contract to build out their idea for the Fremantle site. 2nd and 3rd prizes are cash.

Note: This is for the forthcoming FremantleMedia North America site, which is yet to be built, not for the site.

The hackathon will be held at the Fremantle office in Burbank from April 23-24.
